WACO - A man who showed up at the McLennan County Courthouse after being shot is now facing Kidnapping charges.
20-year-old Victor Lamont Jennings had driven to the courthouse with an untreated gunshot wound back in June of this year. When questioned about the circumstances of the shooting, he refused to provide police with any information.
Jennings reportedly has a long criminal record, including violent offenses, and police are suspicious he may have been involved in criminal activity that led to the shooting.
Due to Jennings' failure to cooperate, the investigation into his shooting has been suspended.
Now Jennings faces new charges after an event that occurred on Wednesday.
Police say that Jennings is accused of getting into a car with his cousin and pulling a handgun on him, telling him to just "drive around."
After driving around for awhile, his cousin convinced him to allow a stop at a small shopping center in the 2400 block of West Waco Drive. The cousin went into a store there and called police, who arrived minutes later with Jennings still sitting in the car.
He was taken into custody after being found with the handgun between his feet.
Jennings faces charges of Kidnapping, Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
