COLLEGE STATION - Police arrested a man Saturday morning after they say he broke into a home while he was drunk and passed out in a stranger's bed.

According to College Station Police, a 32-year-old woman was sleeping in her home on the 400 block of Poplar St. when she was awakened around 5:00 a.m. by someone turning her front door knob repeatedly. She quickly looked outside through a peep hole and saw a shirtless man trying to enter her home.

Soon after, the same man then tried getting into her house through a side door, but was still unsuccessful. The woman told police the man then went to the back of the home and broke through a window.

Police say the woman grabbed her children and ran out of the home in fear to wait for police to arrive.

When officers got to the home they saw a broken window at the back of the home.

According to police, officers then entered the home to see if anyone was inside and found Anthony Thomas Rodriguez, 20, in a deep sleep wearing only his boxer-briefs. The report states Rodriguez smelled of alcohol and when officers woke him up he seemed highly intoxicated.

Officers put Rodriguez in a patrol car, and after he was read his Miranda rights they asked him about what happened.

The report states that much of what Rodriguez told officers was incoherent, but he did tell them he did not know where he was, where he lived, or how much he had to drink that night. According to police, Rodriguez also told them he did not recognize the woman's home that he broke into.

Rodriguez was booked into the Brazos County jail and charged with criminal trespass of a habitat. He has since been released from jail after posting bond.
