Horrible accident results in woman's death

CORYELL COUNTY - A woman is dead after a gruesome accident that occurred Tuesday afternoon in Coryell County.

The accident happened in the northwest part of the county at around 4:45 p.m. on State Highway 36 at Coryell County Road 196 E.

43-year-old Carla Payne Wendeborn of Dublin was driving a 2007 Kia Southbound on SH36 while two 18-wheelers were Northbound.

At some point, Wendeborn swerved into the oncoming lane and struck the first 18-wheeler on the driver's side. The Kia went under the trailer and Wendeborn, who was not wearing her seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle.

Wendeborn was run over by the second 18-wheeler. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
