WACO - A man who was involved in a motorcycle crash on China Spring Highway Wednesday morning is now in the hospital in critical condition.

Officers were sent to the 7600 block of China Spring Highway at around 7:45 a.m. after receiving a report of an accident involving a motorcycle and another vehicle.

Police believe that a white Dodge minivan hat been traveling north on the highway, waiting to make a left turn onto Prickly Pear, when a Harley Davidson motorcycle approached with the driver not noticing that the van had stopped.

The motorcycle slammed into the back of the van and caused the driver to fly off his bike over the van and land in the roadway. He was not wearing a helmet at the time.

79-year-old Clyde Kees, a Waco resident, is now at Hillcrest in critical condition. The driver of the van was not injured.
