Alleged car burglar crashes and is caught by Waco PD

WACO - Police were able to catch a man accused of burglarizing multiple vehicles on Tuesday after he crashed his truck.

Police got a call from a witness stating that the suspect, now identified as Jay Gaffga, had been going through several motor vehicles in the 4700 block of West Lakeshore Drive. The witness was able to give officers a description of Gaffga's truck.

Police caught up with Gaffga after he crashed his truck at the intersection of New Road and Cobbs. It's unknown what caused him to crash.

Property that had been stolen from the vehicles was recovered at the scene.

Gaffga's record shows a history of Criminal Mischief, Driving While Intoxicated, and Theft. He will now have multiple Burglary of a Vehicle charges and Driving While License Invalid tacked on.
