ROBINSON- Police arrested a man believed to be responsible for the severe beating that left a 56-year-old man unconscious and in critical condition on Wednesday morning.

Late Friday night, Robinson Police arrested Clinton Douglas Mills, 30, of Hewitt. He is now in McLennan County Jail, charged with the aggravated assault.

Robinson Police responding to a 9-1-1 call shortly before 12:00 p.m. found Mathew Ray Easley at his house in the 800 block of S. Robinson Dr. suffering from massive head injuries. Easley's eyes and face were swollen, he had skull fractures and he was covered in blood. Easley is being treated at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center in Waco, where he is still unconscious and in critical condition.

Easley was also the victim of an assault in August of 2010, but police do not yet have any evidence that leads them to believe the two attacks are related.

Police are still investigating the aggravated assault and encourage anyone with information on the crime to call the police department at 254-662-0525 or call Waco Crime Stoppers at 254-753-4357.
