Woman arrested for beating significant other in front yard

WACO- A Waco woman is accused of beating her significant other in their front yard on Thursday afternoon before he fled on foot to report the crime at the jail across the street.

Police say Tamara Therese Ford, 41, and her boyfriend had an argument before Ford beat him in front of their house in the 3100 block of Old Marlin Rd., knocking him to the ground. She then allegedly jumped on him, breaking his collar bone with her knee. The victim told News Channel 25 Ford is his wife.

Police described Ford as 6 feet tall, weighing 215 pounds, while the victim is 5'9'' and 165 pounds.

The victim allegedly fled across Marlin Highway to nearby McLennan County Jail where he reported the crime, and Ford soon followed. Police later arrested Ford at the jail.

Ford is facing one count of aggravated assault - family violence.
