Fort Hood - The trial for the Army psychiatrist charged in the deadly Fort Hood rampage will go on as scheduled.
Lawyers for Nidal Hasan wanted to push back his trial from August to December. Colonel Gregory Gross ruled on Friday that the defense has had more than enough time to prepare.
Hasan could be sentenced to death if he is found guilty of the 2009 attack that left 13 people dead. He had to watch Friday's hearing from a closed-circuit T.V.
Hasan is not allowed in the court room until he shaves his beard, which violates Army regulation. The Army Court of Criminal Appeals rejected Hasan's request for a religious exemption.
