BELL COUNTY - The search for a drowning victim in Lake Belton is now a recovery mission.
The 33 year old soldier was swimming with friends off a boat near Arrowhead Point Thursday afternoon. The man apparently went under around 5:30 p.m. and never resurfaced.
The Morgan's Point Dive Team was then called out to the lake to search for the victim. Rescuers stopped searching at dark Thursday night.
The soldier was stationed at Fort Lewis in Washington State.
The man is believed to have been visiting friends in Central Texas on his way to Florida.
Officials haven't released his name.
