WACO- Less than an hour after a man was shot in the stomach in Waco on Sunday night, authorities in Bosque County detained a man who was driving a truck matching the description of the suspect's vehicle.

Waco Police said a man in his 20's could barely talk after being shot in the abdomen near a house in the 3100 block of N. 18th St. around 10:30 on Sunday night, but he was able to utter the nickname of the shooter.

Witnesses at the back of the house heard the shots and found the victim before calling police.

While searching for the shooter, Bosque County Sheriff's deputies found a man driving a short-bed pick-up truck that matched the description of the suspect's vehicle and detained the driver.

Police do not yet know the motive of the shooting.
