COPPERAS COVE - A group of bikers took to their motorcycles this weekend, but instead of going for a ride they sat on the bikes for days to promote safety.
They started sitting on the motorcycles Friday at 7 p.m., and won't get off the bikes until Monday at 7 p.m. besides some quick bathroom breaks.
The "sit-a-thon" will last a grand total of 72 hours.
The group wants to push for more education for young people learning to keep an eye out for bikes on the roads. They also want TxDot to put up more signs warning those who are already driving.
They'll be taking donations at Dave's Icehouse on E. Highway 190 in Copperas Cove to help fund their efforts.
