WACO- A man is recovering and another is on the loose after a shooting in Waco around 10:30 on Friday night.

Marcus Johnson, 32, told police he was walking back from a store in the 1900 block of J. J. Flewellen and made it to the courtyard area of the apartments in the 1000 block of Abbott, when a man he did not recognize began firing at him and hit him once in the leg.

The victim then reportedly ran from the scene while Johnson ran until he collapsed near 1100 Adams.

Johnson was treated for his wound that is not life-threatening at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center.

Waco Police Crime Scene, a K-9 Unit, a DPS helicopter and Waco Fire Department assisted officers, but no suspect was located.
