MEXIA - Officers have finally arrested the man who stole narcotics from the CVS Pharmacy on Milam Street early Thursday morning.

Mark David McCarty, 55, was taken into custody around 1:30 a.m. Saturday at a Motel 6 in Corsicana by the Navarro County Sheriff's Office.

The Mexia Police Dept. says McCarty, who is from Streetman, demanded several bottles of Hydrocodone from a pharmacist around 9:30 a.m. Thursday.  He also told the pharmacist that no one would be hurt if the drugs were handed over, giving the impression that he had a gun.

McCarty was handed the bottles before he fled the store. Surveillance video from surrounding businesses show him getting into a yellow vehicle at a McDonalds.

McCarty is currently being held in the Navarro Co. Jail on a $100,000 bond for aggravated robbery.
