Sports Director Lee Small joined the News Channel 25 team in September of 2011. Prior to that, he spent two years working at KWES in Midland/Odessa where he covered Odessa Permian high school football, Texas Tech athletics and the Oakland A's double-A affiliate Midland RockHounds.
You couldn't have asked for a more exciting first year in Central Texas for Lee. From Robert Griffin III winning the Heisman Trophy to the Baylor Women's basketball team winning the National Championship with a perfect 40-0 record to the Baylor baseball team capturing the outright Big 12 regular season title. It was a very busy first year for Lee.
Before coming to Texas, Lee spent two months in China covering the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics. He was assigned to Water Polo, where he worked for the Olympic News Service.
Originally from Syracuse, NY, Lee has adopted the Texas lifestyle…switching snowshoes for cowboy boots. He graduated magna cum laude from Ithaca College in Ithaca, NY (yes, from the movie Road Trip) with a B.S. in Sport Media and a minor in Journalism.
Outside of the studio, you'll find him the golf course, in the gym, or outside grilling by the pool.
He'd love to hear from you, so please don't hesitate to email him at lsmall@kxxv.com.
