BELL COUNTY - A man is dead after a head-on collision with an 18-wheeler that took place Monday evening between Temple and Rogers.

The Department of Public Safety reports that 39-year-old Fred Flores Livas of Fort Worth was westbound on US Hwy 190 in a 2002 model Chevy Pickup and was approaching a hill in the eastbound lane at around 5:55 p.m.

An 18-wheeler (2012 Kentworth) that was headed eastbound saw the truck and tried to take evasive action, but couldn't avoid hitting the truck on the driver's side.

The driver of the truck was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the 18-wheeler was not injured.
