Fatal fire victim found in abandoned home identified

WACO - A body that was recovered from a vacant Waco home after a fire that took place on January 18th has been identified. It is 49 year old John Jeffrey Oliver.

The fire took place early in the morning in the home at 1428 Springdale. It took crews nearly an hour to get the flames under control.

Mr. Oliver is believed to have stayed in and around the Waco area and may have been in a transient type of situation, staying wherever he could. He did have several family members in the local area.

His remains were identified by dental records.

The cause of the fire and the cause of his death are still under investigation.
