The Officer was able to avoid being hit.
When backup units arrived, the man drove toward his house. Officers were able to catch up to him before he got inside. Martinez needed to be wrestled down by three officers and needed to be pepper sprayed before being taken into custody.
Martinez was taken to Scott and White Hospital for a minor complaint of leg pain. After being treated he was book to Bell County Jail. He is charged with the active arrest warrant from Milam County and with Aggravated Assault on a Peace Officer from the incident on Friday.
