WACO - The Waco Police Department arrested a man Thursday morning after he kidnapped his ex-girlfriend and her two children and then threw that woman out of a moving car.
Darrel Wayne Stewart, a 26 years old, went to his ex-girlfriend's apartment, located in the 2400-block of South 21st St., at 5:00 a.m. and then forced his way into the home.
Upon entering he got into an argument with the 23 year old woman and then physically assaulted her. Stewart then forced the woman and her two children (a seven month old and a two year old) into the woman's car and fled eastbound on Highway 84.
While in the car the two got into an argument and Stewart pushed the woman out of the car. This caused major injuries to the victim including several broken bones and numerous abrasions. The victim attempted to flea, but Stewart caught her and put her back into the car.
Eventually they stopped in Mexia at a convenience store. Stewart apologized for everything and then went into the store to get her bandages. While in the store, the victim got into the drivers seat of the car and drove her and her children back to Waco. The children were unharmed.
At approximately 11:30 a.m. Thursday morning Stewart was arrested at his home at the 2300-block of Summer and charged with three counts of aggravated kidnapping. Stewart also had warrants for failure to pay child support.
