MILAM COUNTY - A Milano man has turned himself in after leading police on a chase through a heavily wooded area.

The incident started when a Milam County Deputy, Josh Clouse, attempted to stop a suspicious vehicle on County Road 322 Wednesday afternoon.

The driver, now identified as 36-year-old Curtis Huddleston, fled up County Road 330 and then west on U.S. Highway 79 until he wrecked just west of County Road 360. Huddleston then fled on foot and headed into the wooded area.

The area was searched, but police were unable to locate Huddleston and called off the search about 2 hours later. However, Clouse was able to identify Huddleston as the person who ran from him.

A warrant was obtained for Evading Arrest which was upgraded to a felony due to Huddleston having a previous charge and conviction for the same offense. Contact was made with Huddleston by telephone and arrangements were made to turn himself in. He was arraigned and his bond was set at $10,000.
