WACO - A Waco man is dead after he was stabbed by his sister's live-in boyfriend while trying to save her from being strangled.

"[Zachary]gave his life for his sister. Basically that's what he did," said family member Losanja McConnell.

Officers responded to a domestic dispute on Thursday night at the Kate Ross Apartments on 1212th Street and Dutton Avenue just before midnight and found the body of Zachary Davis, 25, on the sidewalk.

Investigators say Davis, who was visiting the couple, intervened in a fight between his sister and her boyfriend and tried to protect his 27-year old sister as she was allegedly being assaulted by Allan Story.

The two men struggled and Davis was stabbed with a knife in the upper torso. Story, 41, fled but was captured by police about four hours later.

Davis allegedly ran from his sister's apartment and collapsed at the front steps of an apartment on the corner of Dutton and 12th Street.

Davis' sister was not injured.

Police say Allan Story is a registered sex offender from Tennessee and has outstanding probation and parole warrants.

Story was taken into custody at an acquaintances home in the 1900 block of North 13th.
