WACO - The Waco Police Department is currently working numerous forgery cases where suspects have stolen checks from residential mailboxes.
Suspects are going through mailboxes and stealing checks intended to pay bills. The checks are then altered and cashed at stores throughout the Waco area.
Citizens are encouraged to hand deliver any checks to their mail carrier or take them directly to their local post office.
Most of the thefts have occurred in the West Waco area.
Police have two active warrants for one of the suspects, 31 year old Beranda Jashun Richardson of Waco.
Anyone with information on these thefts or the whereabouts of Richardson is asked to call Waco Police or Crime Stoppers.
