Sports Minute: Here is the latest Texas sports news from The Associated Press

STOCKTON, Calif. (AP) - Tyler Blount scored 16 points, including four 3-pointers, and Immanuel King scored 14 more as Texas State defeated Arkansas-Pine Bluff 71-54. The Bobcats pulled away late in the first half to lead 39-27 at the break and, after Arkansas-Pine Bluff scored the first four points of the second half, Blount hit a 3-pointer to kick off a 9-2 run. King scored eight of his career-best 14 points in the final seven minutes to maintain a double-digit lead.

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) - Philip Rivers looks forward to his Thanksgiving debut in his 14th season. The six-time Pro Bowl quarterback is also pretty fired up about how important Thursday's visit to the Dallas Cowboys is for his Los Angeles Chargers. LA is within two games of AFC West-leading Kansas City after an 0-4 start. The Cowboys have lost both games without suspended star running back Ezekiel Elliott. They probably need to win three of the remaining four games without Elliott to stay in the playoff picture.

HOUSTON (AP) - Trevor Ariza had a season-high 25 points in the Houston Rockets' 125-95 victory over the Denver Nuggets. Ariza was 7 of 10 from 3-point range. Chris Paul had 23 points and 12 assists, and James Harden added 21 points, nine assists and eight rebounds in limited action.

HOUSTON (AP) - Houston Texans quarterback Tom Savage said he couldn't let himself get discouraged by boos growing at NRG Stadium on Sunday as the offense sputtered early against Arizona. In Houston's 31-21 victory over the Cardinals, Savage had the best game of his career. He completed 22 of 32 passes for 230 yards while throwing two touchdowns and an interception. He struggled to move the offense early and the frustrated fans let him hear it.

NEW ORLEANS (AP) - Anthony Davis had 29 points and 11 rebounds, Demarcus Cousins added 24 points and 15 rebounds, and the New Orleans Pelicans beat the San Antonio Spurs 107-90. Pau Gasol had 17 points and LaMarcus Aldridge 16 in a largely frustrating night for San Antonio, which shot only 39.8 percent and went 6 of 24 from 3-point range.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - Harrison Barnes banked in a 30-footer at the buzzer to give the Dallas Mavericks a 95-94 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies. Barnes led the Mavericks with 22 points, nine of them coming in the fourth quarter to help Dallas thwart a late Memphis comeback.

DENVER (AP) - Nathan MacKinnon had three assists, including one off a faceoff with a second remaining in the second period, and the Colorado Avalanche beat the Dallas Stars 3-0 to remain nearly unbeatable at home. Erik Johnson, Nail Yakupov and Gabriel Landeskog all scored off feeds from MacKinnon. Jonathan Bernier, starting in place of an ailing Semyon Varlamov, made 28 saves for his 15th career shutout.

LAS VEGAS (AP) - Deandre Burnett had 18 points and a career-high tying eight assists to lead Mississippi to a 79-62 rout of Rice in the Heavyweight bracket's consolation game at the MGM Grand Main Event. Terence Davis added 15 points in just 17 minutes after getting into foul trouble and Devontae Shuler scored 13 for the Rebels.
