Two men indicted in murder of Lorena high school football player

LORENA - A grand jury says there's enough evidence to send two men to trial on accusations they shot and killed a high school football player from Lorena, 10 miles south of Waco.

28-year-old Willie Contreas of Waco and 17-year-old Leonard Trey Nino were indicted Wednesday.

Police say they shot 17-year-old Nathan Romo in the head the night of March 8th at Guthrie Park in Waco. Romo reportedly went to the park to meet someone with whom he recently had a dispute.

Romo was in his car with several people when he was shot. He later died at Scott & White Hospital in Temple.
