BRYAN - New details are coming out about the plane crash at an apartment complex Saturday night.
National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) officials are telling News Channel 25 that the pilot of that plane was very experienced. Logging countless of flight hours prior to Saturday's accident.
In the preliminary investigation by Bryan D.P.S. it appears that the plane was having fuel problems. Forcing the pilot to try and make an emergency landing at College Station's Easterwood Airport.
Unfortunately the plane being piloted by John Thomas Holmstrom, 57, of Cedar Hill crashed three miles short at the Z-Islander Apartments. Also in the plane was Katherine Ruth Holmstrom, 48, also of Cedar Hill.
They were flying from Forth Worth to Galveston when they tried to make that emergency landing in College Station.
The investigation into the crash is continuing, and their bodies have been taken to the Travis County Coroner's office for an autopsy.
There were no other injuries as a result of the crash, but a few cars were damaged.
