State considering online voter registration

AUSTIN – Texas lawmakers are considering a bill that may allow voters to register online.

The bill proposes that anyone with a valid driver's license or state ID could register to vote online. It was approved in the House Thursday night and has one finale hurdle before reaching the Senate.

Some lawmakers say that this could save the state money on postage, while encouraging people to vote.
