FORT HOOD - As the nation reacts to news about Osama bin Laden's death, there are some fears of retaliation.
On Sunday, the president, along with the Defense Department, gave the order to raise the security level to "Bravo" on military posts across the country.
This level of security means that there will be more military personnel at gates and building entrances around post. There will also be more searches and an increase of military police on duty.
"Since the threat levels are up, and suspicions, they're checking ID's at places they usually don't check ID's," Specialist Gregory Granese explained. "Just wearing a uniform usually gets you where you need to go, but not now, they are checking the ID's."
The heightened security caused traffic to back-up around the gates. The Department of Public Safety is aware of the situation, while they are unable to comment on what measures they're taking for security reasons, they are taking provisions to monitor and ensure public safety.
International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL) has called for extra vigilance because of heightened terror risk from Al-Qaeda, or other similar inspired groups.
