BURNET COUNTY - A man was arrested on Tuesday in connection with a boating accident that killed a Central Texas teen eight years ago.

The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department says 36-year-old Travis Marburger is charged with manslaughter for the death of 18-year-old Justin Roberts.

On May 3, 2002 around midnight, Roberts was fishing on a boat with two friends on Lake Buchanan in Llano County when they were struck by another boat.

The blue fiberglass boat responsible for the crash was last seen being pulled away from the lake by a white Chevy pickup truck, but it was never found.

Texas Parks and Wildlife spokesman Mike Cox said authorities used a backhoe Wednesday to dig up the buried speedboat near Bertram, about 65 miles southwest of Temple.

Roberts was a senior at Lampasas High School and was to graduate later that month.

Marburger is being held in the Burnet County Jail. In addition to manslaughter, he is also charged with Possession of a Vessel with a Hull Identification that has been Removed. Bond has been set at a total of $101,500.
