HEARNE - A Texas A&M univeristy student is killed after a car accident on Highway 190 Thursday.
State Troopers say 19-year-old Serena Swandland was driving a 2008 Kia headed northbound on U.S. 190 when she lost control of the vehicle and skidded sideways into the southbound lane, and was struck broadside by a 2005 Ford pickup truck driven by Gene Allen Mullenberg.
Mullenberg and his wife Pamela, were taken to Saint Josephs Hospital in Bryan. No word yet on thier condition.
Investigators want to talk with a driver of a third vehicle who saw the crash.
Witnesses say the man was driving a white Chevrolet pickup truck had stopped
briefly after the crash and spoke with other witnesses.
The man is described as 6 feet 2 inches tall, with black curly hair, dark skin tone, good
teeth and a foreign accent, possibly French. Witnesses say he is very muscular
and was wearing a white pullover shirt with blue jeans.
