Road Conditions: Up to the Minute

WACO - Conditions worsened as the morning progressed in southern Central Texas. Roads, bridges and highways are closed as frigid temperatures and slick roadways plague drivers.

Temple:
Elevated portions of Interstate 35's were closed along its elevated portions due to ice, however as of 1:20 p.m., bridges had been reopened.

KILLEEN

  • W.S. Young Drive bridge is closed until conditions improve.

Two accidents snarled traffic on US 190 into the late morning hours. A vehicle rolled over near Fort Hood's main gate, and the second occurred when a UPS truck rolled over.

Killeen, Belton and Temple Police are asking drivers to stay off the roads unless absolutely necessary.

In Hill County, DPS reports a deadly one car rollover at the 368 B Exit ramp on Interstate 35.

A two vehicle accident on Highway 6 on the Falls and Robertson County Line ended with a car upside down in a creek. The driver escaped, but there is no word on any injuries.

There have been numerous accidents in Navarro and Freestone Counties.
