Police: Riesel man paid girls to send him nude pictures

RIESEL- A Riesel man is accused of paying young girls to send him nude pictures of themselves. Police say 46-year-old Billy Shaw has been inappropriately involved with three teenage girls.

Two weeks ago, a McLennan County Sheriff's Deputy responded to a call, arresting Shaw for harboring a runaway. Riesel Police Chief Danny Krumnow says it turned out during further investigation, that 13-year old girl hiding in Shaw's house was also his victim.

"These parents, they knew something was going on," Krumnow said.

The girl was brought in for questioning where police discovered there was another girl involved, 14 years old. The day she was questioned by officials, it appeared Shaw was involved after he sent her a text message, promising her a four-wheeler "if she could make this crud go away."

Krumnow told News Channel 25 it was then discovered Shaw had been buying the girls clothes, four-wheelers, alcohol and taking them places.

"It was apparent he was trying to pay the girls to produce child porn for him," Krumnow said, who adds as of yet, no direct improper sexual contact between Shaw and the girls has been discovered but nude pictures and videos of them were found on the cell phones he gave them.

The 46-year-old suspect is being charged with five charges of Harboring a Runaway, Attempted Sexual Performance by a Child, Tampering with a Witness and two counts of Providing Alcohol to a Minor. Krumnow says there very well could be more victims and more charges pending.
