First Alert Central Texas Forecast

Today's Forecast

Today's Forecast Image
  • 47°
  • 47°

FIRST FREEZE TONIGHT

We experienced a big change on Monday as an arctic cold front surged through the region. Tonight will be our coolest night so far this season with temperatures falling into the upper 20s and low 30s. A Freeze Warning will be in effect tonight for all of Central Texas. Make sure to bring sensitive plants inside! By sunrise, wind chills will be in the 20s and teens due to a breezy north wind at 15 to 25 mph. The clouds should break by the afternoon, allowing high temperatures to make it into the low 40s.

Due to light winds, mostly clear skies and dry air, temperatures will plummet Tuesday night. By Wednesday morning, temperatures will probably be in the 20s across the entire area. High temperatures probably won't be much warmer Wednesday versus Tuesday, with afternoon temps in the mid to upper 40s.

Another morning with sub freezing conditions could occur on Thursday before things start to warm up. The forecast is calling for winds out of the south southwest, which should help bring our highs back into the 50s. Highs look like they'll rebound back into the 60s by Friday and Saturday. Our next cold front could arrive by Sunday, dropping us back down into the 40s and 50s.

Stay warm, everyone!
