TEMPLE - With six Central Texas dealerships losing Chrysler franchises Thursday, some dealerships are already seeing a growth in their customer base.
Employees at Mac Haik Dealership in Temple report an increase in calls from customers in Waco where Chrysler franchises will end in the next 30 days.
"I do expect we'll get busier," said Duane Harris, General Manager at the Mac Haik Dealership. "We're not going anywhere. We'll still service Dodge Chrysler Jeep...we still have the body shop."
Harris expects roughly a 20 percent increase in sales due to a growing customer range. If sales do increase, the Mac Haik dealership will increase employment and hours as needed.
"We're always looking for good technicians, body technicians, and sales people so we'll be looking," said Harris.
Officials at dealerships who are losing their Chrysler franchise said they will continue to honor warranties for the next couple of weeks.
"For us business continues as usual," said Harris.
