WACO - Analog televisions switched to static as News Channel 25 made history Tuesday night when it shutdown it's analog transmitter at exactly 11:59 p.m.

The transmitter went quiet as Chief Engineer Randy Lee threw the switch, marking the switch to Digital Television in Central Texas. Mike Lee, Vice President and General Manager of KXXV, said "It's the end of an era, but I think the Central Texas market was ready."

KXXV began broadcasting an analog signal in 1985. In 2003, KXXV powered up a new Digital Television transmitter.

Television stations in Central Texas received permission from the Federal Communications Commission to switch to digital signals on the original February 17 conversion date.

If you are no longer able to receive News Channel 25 or other local stations, DTVAnswers.com outlines your options for conversion.
