CORYELL COUNTY - A 42-year-old man led deputies and Fort Hood security personel on a four hour chase late last night into the early morning hours Wednesday.
Coryell County Sheriff's Chief Deputy Joe Blakely says it started as deputies answered a domestic disturbance call in the Leon Junction area of the county.
The man had been invovled in a scuffle with his elderly mother and fled, leading officers on a chase that began on FM 931, with deputies being led on and off numerous gravel county roads in the Flat and Leon Junction areas.
The suspect drove his pickup on and off Fort Hood at least three times, leading to a lockdown of the entrances as deputies tried to make the stop. At one point spike strips were setup and all four tires of the truck were successfully flattened but he just kept driving.
Finally, the suspect lost pursuing officers on a small range road on Fort Hood. Deputies know his identity and will be getting an arrest warrant on multiple charges in the case.
