Baby's Skull Fractured, Sitter Arrested

WACO - A babysitter was arrested on charges for allegedly striking a 10-month-old in the head, fracturing the infant's skull.

Tammy Beckett, 35, of Waco, was arrested Friday afternoon for injury to a child.

Police officers were called to the Providence Hospital emergency room on March 14, after the 10-month-old girl was brought in after she was found unresponsive. Officers were told that the babysitter, Beckett, was watching the child when she discovered the child unresponsive.

While at the hospital, officers learned that the child was suffering from a fractured skull and bleeding from the brain and would be transported to Cooks Children's Hospital in Fort Worth

Detectives have determined that the babysitter, Tammy Beckett, struck the child in the head with her hand.  It was also discovered that Beckett threw the child to the floor, then picked the child up and shook her. 

An arrest warrant was issued Beckett's arrest for Injury to a child on Thursday, becket turned herself in on Friday.
