TEMPLE - A Central Texas couple is cleaning up their bedroom this morning after a car smashed through their bedroom wall.

Temple Police responded to the 8700 block of Poison Oak, reportedly, for a hit and run. Upon arrival, officers found a Ford Contour resting partially inside one of the house's bedrooms, the result of a high-speed crash.

Debris from the crash filled the bedroom, but miraculously, not a single splinter landed on the couple who was asleep in the bed at the time of the accident.

The Driver, meanwhile, fled the scene on foot. Police determined the driver's name from the vehicle's registration information.

The driver, Kenneth James Jones, was located by Temple Police as he was walking in the 6500 block of Hwy. 317, about two hours after the crash occurred.  He had only minor injuries to his face and hands from the crash.

Police believe the Ford was traveling at a very high rate of speed while going south on Ridgeway. As the driver approached the turn, he lost control and stuck a parked car before ending up in the couple's bedroom.

Temple's accident investigation unit is investigating, and Jones could face numerous charges.
