The Backpack Program began at Talitha Koum in the spring of 2008, when teachers were noticing how hungry the kids were on Monday mornings when they came back to school. The Junior League of Waco, Talitha Koum committee took action by sending home with these children, a backpack of food every Friday.
You can help address poverty in Waco by your sponsorship of a backpack and with every backpack we fill, we are filling a child's stomach so that they can concentrate on school.
