KILLEEN - A Fort Hood soldier faces murder charges after police say he allegedly stabbed a fellow soldier early Sunday morning.

Just before 5:00 a.m. Sunday, Killeen Police got a call that a man had been stabbed in the 100 block of Prather Drive. Officers arrived to find a man lying in the front yard with a stab wound to the chest.

Witnesses at the scene told officers the suspect and the victim were in an altercation when the stabbing took place. The suspect, witnesses said, fled the area.

The victim, 20-year-old David Lester Middlebrooks, was transported to Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

Fort Hood Police located the suspect and turned him over to the Killeen Police Department. Police have charged Donnie Kenneth Stevens, Jr., with Murder. He is being held in the Bell County Jail in lieu of $1,000,000 bond.
