Murder charges filed after missing teen found dead

James Johnson III was reported missing on Nov. 11. Police found his body Nov. 19.

Paul Andrew Cantu, of Waco, is charged with murder in connection with Johnson's death.

Victor Villarreal Jr. is also facing a murder charge in connection with Johnson's death.

KILLEEN - Three teenagers are behind bars, two facing murder charges after authorities found the body of a missing 16-year-old early Thursday morning.

Killeen Police confirm they found James Johnson III's body off of FM 1237, just north of Temple.

His parents reported him missing last Wednesday. They told police they could not find him or reach his cell phone. Johnson's parents told officers they last saw their son sleeping at their home on Palm Tree Drive in Killeen.

Detectives spoke with several of Johnson's peers who led investigators to his body. Justice of the Peace David Barfield pronounced Johnson dead at 3:18 a.m. Thursday.

The Bell County District Attorney has filed murder charges against 17-year-old Paul Andrew Cantu and 17-year-old Victor Villarreal, Jr. Their bond has been set at $1,000,000 each. A 16-year-old suspect was also taken into custody.
