TEXARKANA, Ark. (AP) - Registered sex offenders in Miller County have to report to the Bi-State Justice Building in Texarkana for a mandatory counseling session on Halloween night.
The session will run from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday.
The counseling has taken place the past five years for registered sex offenders from Bowie and Red River counties in Texas. Miller County is taking part this year.
Officials say the event is designed to ensure the convicted predators are not mingling with children who are trick-or-treating.
Offenders who don't show for the session face penalties.
