Attempted baby abduction at Darnall

FORT HOOD - An attempted infant abduction prompted Fort Hood officials to lock down Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center Monday.

Fort Hood officials say a woman dressed in "hospital garb" took a newborn from a room on the Mother-Baby ward. The hospital's infant abduction warning alarm went off thwarting the attempt.

The hospital was immediately put into lock down while the staff, security guards and Special Agents from the Army CID searched the building and identified all individuals in the hospital.

Officials released two photos of a "person of interest" Tuesday, asking for the public's help in identifying the would be abductor.
